My husband said to me the other day, “Why don't you make cloud dough for LMF?” and I thought, yeah, why don't I make some cloud dough for Little Miss F to explore?
Cloud dough is one of my favorite doughs. As Dana from Lemonlime Adventures shares there are a lot of different versions. I am looking forward to making the baby oil one for LMF when she is much older--the texture is so smooth, like the silkiest of sands.
For LMF I made a vegetable oil cloud dough so it was safe for consumption.
The ingredients are basic kitchen foodstuffs--flour and oil. That's it!
Just take 1 cup flour (I used all purpose, but I know teachers who have used Gluten Free all purpose flour with no problems), and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Mix with your hands. It should create a sand-like texture.
How do I make Taste-Safe Cloud Dough?
1 cup Flour (all purpose is fine)
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
LMF loves it. Of course, she ate of a lot of it. But that’s okay.
I kept this batch in the refrigerator for about a week so we could reuse it again and again. Always smell and taste the dough to make sure it is still fresh before giving to your child.
What is your favorite baby safe sensory dough?
